Lynne Featherstone [Baroness Featherstone], Lib Dem spokesperson on Climate Change will speak on "Equal Marriage: Life with Theresa [in the Home Office]" about her experiences in Coalition Government
Following three excellent first meetings, we would like to remind you about the new British Politics seminar series. Leading political figures will give their off-the-record insights into life in British politics. The seminars, which are co-organised by the Department of Politics and International Studies and Robinson College, will run throughout Lent Term 2017 and the intention is that they should become an annual fixture.
The next seminars are:
Friday 17th February
Roundtable on the Northern Ireland Assembly elections
Friday 24th February
Rt Hon Mark Field MP, Vice-Chairman (International) of the Conservative Party will speak on the Conservatives’ international relations in light of Brexit and Trump
Friday 3rd March
Lord Lisvane, former Clerk of the House of Commons, will talk about parliamentary practices. A must for everyone who hopes to understand what MPs and peers are able to do as they seek to influence the Government over Brexit.
All the seminars will be held on Fridays at 5pm in the Linnett Room, Robinson College.
In addition, Baroness Wheatcroft will be giving the annual Antcliffe Lecture on Thursday 9th March at 5pm in Murray Edwards College. The topic of her Lecture will be 'Politics in the Age of Post-truth'. Please contact the POLIS Department for further details about that event.
